Johnny Dehart

It is with great sadness that we share the tragic loss of Johnny Dehart, who was killed on Monday night, August 21. Johnny was an awesome farmer and dedicated himself to the agriculture community starting with Windy City Harvest. As one of three workers at the one-acre Rodeo Farm, he helped produce food for local health centers during the critical year of 2020. For the past three and a half years—whether mentoring youth, leading volunteers, harvesting crops, or distributing food throughout the Cabrini Green community—Johnny continued nurturing others while working at Chicago Lights Urban Farm. As a son, a brother, an amazing uncle, and a good friend, Johnny was a light that brightened any space he entered. He will be forever missed and loved. This is our small way to support his family in these times. Thank you for your contribution.
