Johnny Irons Mobility Chair
Donation protected
Anyone who has met Johnny has experienced the impression that he makes with his kindness, loyalty, intelligence and strength. As many of you know, Johnny has and continues to fight a hard battle, as his family and loved ones support him along the way.
Despite the feeling of helplessness we may carry during this time, fortunately, this is a way in which we can make a direct and specific difference for Johnny and his family. Johnny needs a better chair! and knowing Johnny, you know it needs to be the coolest ride in town :)
In recent news, Johnny has now transitioned to staying at home! and needs a mobility chair for a number of reasons - details are outlined below and you can also check out the website if you're looking for more information on the chair itself.

All money raised from the gofundme will go directly to Lily to purchase the chair and the additional parts recommended by his neurologist.
Why this chair?
1. Made specifically for brain and spine patients
2. Titled option allows reduction of pressure on seat and allows Johnny to sit in different positions
3. Built to maneuver easily around the house
4. Recommended by Rehab Medical Director of Disease of Consciousness from TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston
If you're interested in the details of what Johnny and his family have been going through, Lily kindly provided a medical summary to be included here at the end. I know these aren't lay mans terms by any means, but I did want to include the details for those that may have been wondering.
If you have any specific questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Jordan Elliston, I'll work to get them for you.
Thank you - Johnny and Lily send all their love!!
Here are some more recent pics of that face we all know and love :)
Details:
He was admitted to the hospital on 12/20/2019. He underwent a left frontal craniotomy and resection of tumor on 12/20/2019. The course of his hospitalization was complex and complicated with Intracerebral and intraventricular hemorrhage warranting a re-opening of the left frontal craniotomy, evacuation of intracerebral and intraventricular hemorrhage and placement of an external ventricular drain (EVD) on 12/29/2019. He required conversion of the EVD to a right frontal ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) on 1/30/2020 due to hydrocephalus. Since his mental status has not improved for safe oral intake, he required a feeding tube (PEG) placement to address his nutritional needs and a tracheostomy placement to allow ease in transition from ventilator support. Mr. Irons has demonstrated improvement in his overall clinical status and has been accepted in the Neuro-cognitive unit in TIRR Memorial Hermann.
