Johnny Matheson's Cancer Treatment

Thanks for taking the time to read this. In February of this year, Dad had a mishap on his wheeler that left him with a persistant chest pain. A quick check at outpaitents ruled out heart trouble and he was refferred to a specialist. Preliminary tests confirmed a mass on the third lobe of his right lung, and after a trip to Moncton for imaging, our fears were confirmed.
March 23rd had us over to the QEII in Halifax for a consultation with a Thoracic Surgeon, whose prognosis is very optimistic. Dad will have surgery in May, and barring minimal complications, has an expected Hospital stay of 2-3 days. A successful surgery will mean minimal aftercare and a speedy recovery.
A couple days prior to Surgery he will need to meet with an Anesthesiologist, so we are looking at a minimum stay of 4-5 days. That, coupled with the previous trips to Moncton and Halifax have put a significant strain on an already fixed income.
Dad, like most of you, hates to ask for help. There seems to be a stigma attached to that generation, but know that any and all gestures will be warmly recieved, and greatly appreciated. Donations can be accepted here, or personally. Bridge pass and Gas cards are also welcome, as they greatly help in transportation costs.
My Father and my Family thank you for taking the time to read this, and dearly thank you for any help you are able to give. He's a tough old bastard and with support, I know he will get through this.
Thank You
