Donation protected
With a heavy heart we announce the passing of John R. Rutledge Jr. He was a hard working family man and extremely driven. He was best known for his cool walk, the catch phrase "Okkkkk" and for how dependable he always was. If ever there was someone in need he extended a helping hand. John could always be seen riding his bike on River Road in Florence or working on his van in front of his house. He was a man of many talents and was known to fix anything, especially with duct tape. He a simple man with a big heart. He didn't run with a crowd but managed to touch every life he encountered with his presence and upbeat attitude. John's laughter could fill a room and although he didn't say much, he always left you with a great feeling when he spoke.
John was born in Myrtle Beach South Carolina on April 29th, 1937. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. Our family wishes to have a memorial service for him in his birthplace amongst loved ones. Myrtle Beach was dear to his heart and he loved the beach. He attended family reunions and planned family vacations to Myrtle Beach to share old memories and create new ones. We appreciate all of your contributions in advance. John was a loving and caring man and this celebration of his life will be a reflection of who he was, amazing.
