John’s funeral and family fund
I’m Amanda, Sister in law to John Billiot of Slidell, Louisiana. We lost John to Covid complications on Friday, August 13th, 2021. John was a husband and father of three. John was a retired veteran, who served his country while he also served his family, his church, and his community. He was the guy who’d take anybody fishing, give ‘em a hug, make them laugh, and drop everything in a hot second to help. Everyone that met John got a smile, and the light in this world is definitely dimmer for all those who knew him. His rather large family, both blood and chosen, meant the absolute world to him.
John was the breadwinner of the family. Always supporting his wife and kids and their dreams. I know that the family has never lived extravagantly, usually pay check to pay check, with all of the kids working to make ends meet. They worked hard together and for each other. After being in the hospital for weeks in ICU, the funeral expenses, and as the new normal of a life without John sets in, we want to help Kristian and the kids by relieving some of the financial strain.
If you feel so compelled, please give. It will all go directly to his wife, Kristian, and their immediate needs.
If you can’t give financially, we’d ask you to share a smile, or a laugh with someone today. Hug those you love like there is no tomorrow. And if you know John, please keep his memory alive with us.
