Many of you are familiar with the history between me and Confederate flag stand guy, but today it reached a new low when my van was searched and my new phone was confiscated by the Illinois State Police in relation to a crime that I did not commit. Despite having my innocence on my side, as an activist I am well aware that the criminal justice system will find the conclusion that it wishes if you don't have adequate representation, and the rumor mill in Springfield is vicious. Not that there would be a good time to be falsely accused, but with the opening of my new business in two weeks, this comes at about the worst time and I unfortunately don't have money for an attorney. As a precautionary measure I have created this fundraiser in hopes that you will help cover a retainer for quality legal counsel so I can put this behind me and move on with my life as quickly as possible.
