On March 7th, the apartment house that my daughters and I were renting was burnt down. We lost everything in the fire with the exception of my Grandfathers Navy Flag, and the clothes we were wearing when I was dropping my children off to school. All of our family history, my grandfathers Navy botswain whistle, Antique pictures, furniture, antique books, and artwork are gone. Right now I am at a temporary residence looking for a new suitable, safe living enviornment for myself and my daughters. We have clothes, and shoes, and the basic necessities. The next step for me is to find a safe location where we can begin to rebuild our lives again, refurnish our household, and begin making new memories with my children. Red Cross assisted my family the first few hours with a couple hundred dollars, and I have received gift cards, money, clothes and small care packages from several of my family members and friends so far and that has helped Tremendously this past month while we were recouperating from the loss. Now I need a permanent place to live with my children and any assistance is appreciated! I am a Service connected honorably discharged, Navy veteran, single mother of three children.
