Welcome to the official fundraising page for '168 Hours with Angel'. We are excited to have you join us on this history-making journey, where Angel (Sherifat) will cook for 168 hours (7 days) as she attempts to break the world record for 'Longest Cooking Time'.

Sherifat, or as she commonly goes by Angel, was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She moved to the United States ten years ago with her three children. Funny enough, growing up, she did not enjoy cooking. However, to pass the time during the pandemic, she started cooking traditional Nigerian dishes for her friends and family. It was during this time she fell in love with cooking, and those who knew her fell in love with her food. Her friends, wanting more of her food, realized there were few places they could get Nigerian food in the valley and encouraged Angel to open a restaurant. In 2021, Angel bought a food truck to start selling Nigerian food, and eight months later, she opened her first brick-and-mortar restaurant.

She has passed this love of cooking to her three children. Last December, when cooking with her kids, her eldest daughter asked her if she would ever consider trying to break the world record for 'Longest Cooking Time'. Angel started researching and realized it was something she wanted to accomplish. Her hope is to show her kids that there is no dream too big to achieve with a good plan. She also wants to broaden access to and familiarity with Nigerian cuisine in the United States.

Angel will be cooking for 7 days starting on June 7th at 8 a.m. MST at BLT Kitchen in Mesa, AZ. All are welcome to attend, and the whole event will be live-streamed. She will be cooking predominately Nigerian food. All prepared meals will be given away free to people attending the event in person and to local charities.

Donations will go towards paying for food, supplies, and costs related to hosting the event.
