Join Ashley's Army against Cancer!!!

Hello. My name is Chelsey Rech. I would love to introduce you to the Perkins-Harris Family. We have Ashley, Madyson, and Paul! We can not forget about the 3 fur babies Ruger, Ted and Peter! On December 1st, their lives were flipped upside down.

On September 29, 2022 Ashley went into the Emergency Room due to some side pain. They suspected something was wrong with her gallbladder. Thankfully her gallbladder was fine, but she was sent home with more questions than answers. Fast forward to October 31st. Ashley went to the doctor again and they discovered what they believed was a 5mm cyst on her right ovary. The doctors said to give it a month to see if it will go away on its own. With the pain she was having, they finally decided to go in to remove the cyst on December 1, 2022. We were hoping for a simple and easy procedure, but as soon as her Doctor went in to remove the cysts, he stopped the current plan of action and had to change everything. There was no cyst to be found. Her doctor found cancer surrounding her right ovary, along with the left ovary, as well as a few other areas. He decided to take some biopsies to have them sent in for testing. On December 9, 2022, Ashley received the official diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer. Ashley now will go in for her first visit with her oncologist on December 23, 2022. At that appointment, her treatment plan will finally be put in place! From some more information that she gathered at her appointment on December 9th, was that a full hysterectomy will more than likely need to be done as well.

For those of you who don't personally know Ashley, let me tell you a little about her She is a young, beautiful, hard-working, and loving lady. She is the one who tries to do everything herself first. She will even get her hands dirty if needed. When she sets her mind to something, nothing will get in her way to achieve any goal! She graduated high school early and moved out to be on her own at 17! She now has her own home and making every dream she has come true! She has a beautiful 10-year-old daughter named Madyson who she shares with the love of her life, Paul Perkins. They also share the dog Ruger, the cat Ted, and the bunny Peter. The love this family has for each other is unbreakable. Seeing them share laughs, make memories, and grow together will bring nothing but smiles to your face and joy in your heart.

As they are dealing with this chapter in their lives, they can only hope for nothing but the best. They will face many challenges, but with love, support, and prayers, hopefully, those challenges will be a bit easier for them to handle. As each week and appointment passes, you guys will be able to follow this journey with Ashley, Paul and Madyson. Ashley is ready for this battle. She is ready to win.
