When my aunt gave me Bella as a puppy, she was a tiny and beautiful puppy seemingly afraid of everything in the world. She quickly grew out of her fears to be a very social dog that loves everything and everyone -- and loves entertaining people! Bella has been with me through everything. She's lived with me in Texas, came with me to Michigan while I completed my bachelors and my PhD, and has kept me company for fifteen years. I need help so she can be comfortable for what time she has left. On Monday, Bella seemed unusually tired, but in good spirits. Tuesday, her appetite took a sharp downturn. Wednesday, I took her to a local animal hospital. They determined Bella has a Grade 6 heart murmur, and pancreatitis.
The emergency vet is confident that a few days of inpatient care for her pancreatitis should resolve it, and give us time to find her a cardiologist. I put everything I could around our upcoming out of state move to cover her tests and start her treatment. The bill will have to be paid in the next 2-3 days when she's discharged.
The ballpark they could give me was $1900-3400. I've put down $1300, and I'm asking for $2200 to cover the high end of their ballpark and processing fees. If there's anything leftover, I'll use it towards her cardiology costs. Bella means the world to me, and I'm so grateful for the help in making sure she's well again.
