Join Brittany's Fight to Save Willow

Donation protected

I have started this page with permissions from my lifelong friend; as a final plea for help to save her beloved dog Willow, from euthanasia. Now please, hear me out and read the rest of this.

I have known Brittany for over 20 years; I often think we were cut from the fabric as both hold serious passion for all animals with the mentality to sacrifice for them over ourselves -,even if it means being homeless with our last dollar going to help them.

Brittany was born and raised in Yakima, Washington, where she currently resides, providing support for her elderly grandmother. Her passion for animals started when she was just a little girl, with horses, but quickly expanded as a young adult to Coonhounds. She has bred very successful hounds over the last 2 decades; six generations. Her meticulous breeding has produced animals not only successful in the field and the show ring but also as wonderful pets. Among many AKC Titles with several top dogs in the nation that Brittany holds with her dogs: Reign (Willow’s Grandmother) won best of breed at Westminster dog show with Brittany showing as the breeder/owner/handler. This feat is accomplished by very few especially at that caliber and certainly not as an owner, breeder and handler.

Brittany has not been dealt the best cards in life; and has persevered through hardships that would leave many of us completely incapacitated. Losing her mother at a young age and later both her brothers has left her with only her grandmother and a step father. She escaped domestic abuse and subsequently had to sell off most of her beloved dogs, horses and breeding business as a means to just stay afloat. Although the scars may fade over time the trauma of these events lingers.

So here we are, with Willow, she is one of the last things that Brittany has left in her life. She is out of Brittany’s last litter of puppies. Willow has been ill for several months; with severe vomiting and food aversion. Brittany has sought the advice of many veterinarians and already spent several thousands of dollars on bloodwork, exams, diagnostics and different medications; all which have failed. On 6/18 a new veterinarian to Willow’s team discovered what may appear to be a soft tissue mass, or hypertrophic rugal folds, a rare form of long term gastritis (maybe caused by Heliobactor) The baseline diagnostic therapy is endoscopy. This procedure alone will likely run upwards of $2500. Brittany needs help now to avoid euthanasia of her beloved Willow.

She is humble. I had to talk her into starting this GoFundMe. I will be the one who is managing the funds on this account with prior permission from Brittany. She does not want to handle money directly, with any funds going straight to the provider. This week has been a challenge to lock down a vet that is able to provide these services. We have confirmed (finally) that Yakima Valley Vet will take Willow on. The appointment date is still pending due to the need for payment. The clinic will take direct donations; but they are unable to “hold” them for as they say “more than a short time” If you would like to make direct donations to the clinic or prefer to not use gofundme please reach out to me privately through facebook; this platform; and by text.

In the meantime Willow needs your help. There is no monetary donation too small; even a share of this page will mean the world to Brittany and Willow, who are totally helpless here.

Brittany is used to being on her own and not relying on anyone. Let’s show her some support (for the first time in her life). Let her know that she and Willow are worth it. Show them there are people out here who want to make a difference for a selfless woman trying to save her dog.
