Join Carter's Fight for a Second Chance

This a courtesy donation for Hollys hope rescues. Here’s what his foster and founders wrote for Carter.

CARTER:

CARTER WAS A <long time> STREET DOG THAT WAS <living at a Whataburger. A group of volunteers backed by Holly’s Hope Rescue was terribly afraid for his safety. An experienced trapper> TRAPPED <him and took him to a nearby> VET

DURING HIS VISIT, <tests revealed that he> WAS EXTREMELY ANEMIC, HEARTWORM NEGATIVE AND GOT HIS RABIES SHOT AS WELL AS MEDICATIONS. ($515 thank you Holly’s Hope)

AFTER HIS VET APPOINTMENT HE WAS TAKEN TO <a> FOSTER <that would take care him until he was healthy and trusting enough to be adopted.

<not long after arriving, he escaped his kennel and ran into unfamiliar woods where he remained on the run while many volunteers worked to locate him and trap him again. Local volunteers spotted him using drones!!!>

FOR 29 DAYS HE WAS ON HIS OWN AGAIN. ON THE 29TH DAY THE SAME TRAPPER WAS ABLE TO TRAP HIM AGAIN. INSTEAD OF TAKING THE CHANCE OF LOSING HIM AGAIN SHE DROVE HIM TO SAN ANTONIO TO <a well respected>MEDICAL FOSTER <in San Antonio.>

CARTER WAS EMANCIATED, DEHYDRATED, HAD SEVERAL DEEP SORES ON HIS BODY THAT WERE INFECTED.

<She immediately took him back> TO THE VET. <It was clear he needed immediate medical attention to address his obvious> INFECTIONS. BLOODWORK WAS TAKEN AND IT WAS FOUND THAT HE WAS NOW HEARTWORM POSITIVE, HE ALSO HAD HOOKWORMS, WHIPWORMS, GIARDIA, HIS RED & WHITE BLOOD CELLS WERE VERY LOW AS WELL AS HIS PLATELETS. BASICALLY HE HAS NO IMMUNE SYSTEM TO FIGHT THE PROBLEMS HE <now> HAS.

CARTER WAS GIVEN A BLOOD TRANSFUSION, B-12 AND <was transferred to> AN EMERGENCY CLINIC.

CARTER'S OUTER SORES ARE STARTING TO HEAL BUT HE HAS A LONG WAY TO GO. HE WILL <be> ON MEDICATIONS FOR ANOTHER THIRTY DAYS <at least>.

IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS CARTER GOES BACK TO THE VET TO MAKE SURE HE DOES NOT HAVE AN INFECTION IN THE BONES OF HIS LEG, AS IT WAS <too> INFLAMMED TO SEE BEFORE. We fear much more medical potential and the rescue has no more funds to keep helping Carter. That’s why we are doing this fundraiser>

CARTER WAS PETRIFIED OF HUMAN TOUCH, TODAY HE IS STILL CAUTIOUS BUT ALLOWS ME TO PET HIM, IVE EVEN HUGGED HIM A FEW TIMES.HE DOES NOT WANT TO GO OUTSIDE AND TENDS TO STAY IN HIS KENNEL.
