Hello my name is champagne, I am currently in the doggy hospital (ANIMAL EMERGENCY AND URGENT CARE, 4300 Easton Dr. Bakersfield CA). My little human accidentally let me out, and my nose took over my training. Before I knew it, I was bunny hopping through the meadows by my house. My mommy and little humans looked for me for hours, but I was off in the mountains exploring all the new, unfamiliar territory.
On my way home, I was struck by a car. The gentleman stopped and tried to help, but there wasn't much he could do. I had two amazing ladies sit with me until my mommy was found.
My right hip was popped out of the socket and my left leg is brokeen. They found abdominal bleeding in my chest, but it has stopped, I still have fluid in my lungs to monitor. The Dr put me to sleep, and I woke up to my hip back into place. The Dr needs 5K by Monday to transfer me to the surgery Dr. He said that bill (separate from the 5K) may be anywhere from 8.5K to 12K.
My mommy wants to help me get better. I have little humans at home waiting for my return so we can eventually play ball and go swimming again.
Hello, my name is Kristen (mommy). I am a full time student and a single mom of a preteen and a younger child and, of course, fur babies. I am lost for words and really stressing on how to make this work. They popped her hip back into the socket. Now it is just a matter of keeping her on meds and down until her surgery. She has to stay hospitalized for the weekend because she can not use her back legs. I have to finish paying off the estimate of 5K by Monday. Then I will meet with the surgeon, and he will see what needs done exactly and then will want at least 70% down. The vet she is at now said that this kind of surgery goes anywhere from 8.5K to 12K. I will know more by Tuesday. Until then, I have to be able to pay the rest of the bill for where she is now and come up with as much as I can for the surgery. If you find any kind of way possible to help with any amount, it is extremely appreciated by me and my children. No amount is too small or too big. I know times are hard for everybody and if you can't find any spare change, that is absolutely fine. We are asking as little as sharing to all your social media platforms, or even just a prayer because they can do miracles.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look into our crazy adventure. One day, we will be able to look back and see how our community comes together to help each other. I hope you have a blessed day. Please keep my family in your prayers.
Love, champagne and family

(Champagne is coming home today. She is standing on 3 legs. She is still unable to walk or go potty without assistance. She is in diapers and on pain meds. We are waiting to hear back from a few office's on a second opinion. She has an appointment Wednesday for consultation with the surgeon at VCA in LA. Please keep praying and sharing! Thank you everyone for your support. ❤️)

(Champagne is home. She is as comfortable as possible. She definitely still has her spunky personality. I have to keep her in her kennel unless she is laying with me or the kids. She keeps trying to get up and run around but she just flops over, poor thing. We finally made contact with the specialist for her surgery. She will be going to BRVSS (Bakersfield Regional Veterinary Surgical Specialty). There is no longer talk of amputation. Thay are going to do the surgery and put some plates in her hip. All of your prayers have been answered. Her surgery is 5K, then she has a check up in two weeks to remove the sutures and take more x-rays. That will be roughly be $500. If you live in our area will be holding a car wash this Saturday 6/16/24 at 11am to raise as much as we can, in the parking lot of the old bank between Taco Bell and Kern Valley gym, in Lake Isabella. I will keep updating as we go! ❤️)

The car wash was successful. We made $950. It was awesome. We had quite a few volunteers unfortunately. Champagne has popped her hip back out of socket she is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday at 10 AM. Please keep her in your prayers for a quick recovery. Thank you everyone for your donations. Let's keep going. ❤️

Champagne is home from surgery, everything went as planned and very smooth. It's a four week healing process and then we can do the surgery on the other leg in August. She is on antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, pain meds, and sedation medication. she is definitely not a happy camper. she has no use in either back leg and with the sedation medication, she can't even walk on her front paws to go outside to go potty with her doggy sling, so we are going to be getting her some washable doggy diapers for the next 3 weeks. Please keep donating we still have a long road ahead of us ❤️.

there isn't much to update on, but she is recovering wonderfully. All of the donations have helped extremely. She finally had a bowel movement yesterday. It's good to see she's getting over her constipation. We still have her on sedation so she can't do much. She is becoming more vocal, which is good because she's never been a quiet dog. ❤️ thank you for your prayers and your donations. We honestly appreciate everything that comes our way.
