I am Christopher Raby, a product designer and entrepreneur. I was inspired by my late wife, Jeannette, to create the Jeannesis System: a safe and secure mounting system that will eliminate flying umbrellas and the injuries associated with them.

Jeannette had always wanted a pool and patio that welcomed people to a safe and comfortable gathering space. Sadly, Jeannette passed away before that dream could be realized. However, the Jeannesis System, and its first product line, Jeann II, was born from that vision. With over 46 years of manufacturing and engineering experience, I am now bringing that vision to life.

Let’s face it. We’d like to enjoy time outdoors with family and friends. Too often, though, we find ourselves fighting the wind with conventional above-ground furniture that won’t stay upright or stable. Jeannesis will introduce a sleek, streamlined mounting unit that holds structures, poles and furniture without the headache of oversized and clumsy bases. Jeann II will take our outdoor environment to the next level of comfort, controllability and versatility.

An astounding 3000 people on average in the US are hospitalized annually as a result of umbrella accidents. Globally, close to 2 million deaths each year are the result of wind-borne outdoor umbrellas and other furniture.

The Jeannesis product line is technically beyond anything available on the market today. It has no mechanical fasteners or bulky appendages. It is able to withstand high winds and extreme temperatures, significantly increasing stability. The easily installed, below-ground mounting system of Jeann II will allow remarkable versatility for moving and placing umbrellas, tables and structures. You control the layout of your floorplan, creating the comfort to fully enjoy your outdoor space. Effectively rust proof components make it virtually maintenance free.

Once funded, our next steps will be to test and certify Jeann II and the Jeannesis System design. An interactive and informative website will be launched. And we will continue to develop additional products that utilize our unique mounting system. We already envision opportunities in recreational, industrial, and commercial settings.
