Join Ducky Dynamo in Preserving Baltimore Club & Culture

Greetings!

My name is Meagan Buster, colloquially known as Ducky Dynamo and I am a DJ, curator, and culturist born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. My passion is behind the Black arts community that makes up the cultural narrative that has drawn so many, over the course of so long, to fall in love with Baltimore in the myriad of ways they have. My greatest influence lies within the genre of Baltimore Club Music. I had a little hand in the creation of the Baltimore Club Music Day holiday, ratified in 2023, to take place annually on June 17th.

The property we know today as Trip's Place /Gatsby's , and once known as Club Choices , is currently up for auction. With a $500,000 minimum bid, on June 12th, an auction will take place to determine the new owner of this establishment, along with the licensing that comes with the address. The club, event hall and after-hours venue was founded by Odell Brock, also known for his Odell’s disco on North Avenue, and drew partiers for decades. Along with names like Hammerjacks and The Paradox, this location is a vital piece in the story of Baltimore Nightlife and entertainment.

I feel it is extremely vital to the health of not just the Station North community, and the nightlife world of Baltimore in general, but also to the legacy of Black nightlife and culture, that this property becomes owned by someone with these stories and realities in mind.

I am making an effort to raise enough money to make a bid for this property, standing as the representation of all of us who seem to have been slighted or written out of the current nightlife's/entertainment narrative of this city. In a city where black population is starting to recede, while the need and love and protection of black culture is doing nothing but increasing, having another central true 'nightlife' home for the communities that once held those walls up in the name of music and commune and , in general, good times would do wonders for our city's morale and reality.
