Join Ed's Fight for Recovery

Pride, honesty, integrity, strength, loyalty, love. These are the words that come to mind when I think of Ed.

I am beyond lucky to call Ed my cousin, by marriage.

Many of you know the trials that Ed has had to face over the last year. Honestly, it's been just jaw-dropping. If you don't know, it's because of his strength and will. But sometimes even the strongest of us, which he is, needs our help, and we all know he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.

Ed is the picture of pride in Delaware county. Growing up in the Upper Darby School district. Working in the local haunts such as The Burmont, Maddy's, Craigs, and the Colombo Lodge. He was a firefighter for Garrett in Drexel Hill, A member of the Local 1823 Union for 25 years, currently in Local 251, and a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus.

As for his personal life. I've considered myself very blessed to have been able to witness the love between Ed and Tracey that stretches all the way back to when they met in 1990 and married in 1992. They really are a sight to behold. A true love story. To me, it's heartbreaking to watch the trials they have had to endure over the last year.

On July 21, 2023, Ed fell. He was complaining of headaches and when they went to the hospital and after many tests they found lung cancer. This left Ed unable to work. September 20, 2023 they removed the top of the left lung. With Tracey by his side they worked towards recovery. However, Ed was still experiencing headaches and they started noticing some cognitive issues.

On June 25, 2024 after a scheduled MRI, they were walked over to the hospital while the technician held Tracey's hand. She knew something was terribly wrong and when she tells this story you can see she's still in shock. They were told by the doctor that Ed had a 5.2 cm brain tumor and needed it out, as soon as possible. He was admitted and the first surgery took place. He seemed very good at first. By July 1st however he was rushed back into his second brain surgery due to the brain bleeding and leaking spinal fluid. Currently, he seems to be healing okay but he has a long road ahead of him to help him regain cognitive skills and overall health.

But, they aren't done yet. He still needs radiation and chemo.

He needs our help.

I've started this GoFundMe to help with their growing and unfathomable medical costs and daily living costs. The last thing they need to think about right now is financial issues. He needs Tracey by his side and to focus on one thing...... getting better and back to all of us.

Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.
