Join Fleetwood's Fight Against Cancer

UPDATE: Unfortunately Fleetwood passed away Monday morning due to complications with everything he was fighting and yet another ER visit late Sunday night. Fleetwood was such a strong and loving dog, and didn't deserve any of this. But Fleetwood is finally at peace and is no longer in pain. He will never be forgotten. Out of the bottom of our hearts we thank you all so much for every single donation and share you all have made. It gave us hope when we needed it the most. We really wish Fleetwood would have made it to the oncologist so we could finally help him, but that sadly wasn't the case. Again, thank you all so much, this all will still go towards covering the high amount of vet/ER bills that we have had over the last two weeks.
Hello, my name is Alex and I'm creating this fundraiser for the best boy in the world... Fleetwood. If you know Ally, then you know Fleetwood. He's the big bear of a dog in the corner of the room that you can't help but immediately walk over to and say hello. If you've never met Fleetwood, he is a 7 year old Bernese Mountain Dog full of character, joy, personality and love. Unfortunately Fleetwood was just diagnosed with cancer after weeks of testing, and he needs our help. These weeks have been grueling for Ally & I and simply just want the best for our buddy. Unfortunately, this horrible disease is all too common in our furry friends. Fleetwood developed a lump on his leg, and the biopsy came back malignant showing a differential diagnosis of histiocytic sarcoma, large cell lymphoma, and poorly differentiated round cell tumor. The labs should have the exact type in the coming days. The staging of this cancer still needs to be diagnosed by an oncologist. Fleetwood underwent blood tests and chest x-rays and they came back clear. With that news, we really feel it is worth a fight for Fleetwood. His journey is not over yet, and he deserves a longer life. Fleetwood has given so much joy to everyone around him. From being a paws for people dog when he was younger, and giving comfort to anyone in need. Fleetwood is fighting very hard right now, and it's very clear he wants to stay here with his people. He was also just diagnosed with the tick-borne disease Anaplasmosis, which he has also been fighting side-by-side with this cancer. He has remained resilient and is a true fighter. I truly never wanted to make this, nor did I ever think I'd have to. But Fleetwood very much needs our help, as we know proper care and support for our best friends can be expensive and debilitating. So, out of the bottom of my heart, I'm asking all of you for some help. Even something as simple as sharing this GoFundMe would be greatly appreciated.
- Our next steps are as follows; Fleetwood has an oncology appointment scheduled for next Tuesday (5/21). Get his cancer diagnosed more clearly with an ultrasound, and more tests to achieve a solid prognosis. Then move forward with the treatment options that would give Fleetwood the best, and also most comfortable chance at surviving.
All of this can really start to add up, and unfortunately this is something we cannot afford on our own. I really wish we could, but that is the cruelness of this terrible disease. After several tests and emergency visits his medical bills are already nearing $3,500, and he still has yet to see an oncologist to truly start his journey to recovery. Anything you are able to donate will help so much to help Fleety to get better. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this GoFundMe, and I'm sure for many of you, this hits close to home. Dogs truly are our best friends, and we would do anything to help them. They give unconditional love, and we should do the exact same back.
