Help me attend Girlguiding's Global Adventure & Fundraise!

Hello everyone,

My name is Sophie Teasdale, and I am thrilled to share an exciting opportunity that has come my way. I have been selected to attend a Rome to Home International Girl Guiding trip, a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will allow me to connect with fellow Girl Guides from around the world, learn new skills, and make unforgettable memories.

The opportunity came about as I am a Ranger at the 123rd Birmingham Guides and Rangers and a Young Leader at the 177th Birmingham Rainbows, and I went on a selection weekend, where I was successful in securing a place.

I have been involved in Guiding since I was 5 years old, and it has been a significant part of my life, shaping who I am today.

I am also a Lance Corporal at Army Cadets, I have always been passionate about leadership, community service, and personal growth. This trip aligns perfectly with my values and aspirations, and I am determined to make the most of it.

To support my journey, I have committed to covering 1500Km over the next 12 months as a fundraiser, this challenge will not only help me prepare physically and mentally for the trip but also demonstrate my dedication and commitment to this cause.

I will also engage in community events like bake sales, quiz nights etc.

Next year is an important year for me, I will be going into Year 11 in September, so will be completing my GCSEs in Summer 2026. Therefore, I aim to raise the funds for the cost of the trip (£2000) by September so I can focus entirely on my final year and my exams, once my exams are over, I plan to continue fundraising (£1000) for Girl Guiding, The money raised will help provide resources, activities, and opportunities for young girls, empowering them to grow and develop their skills.

This trip will conclude my high school years, and I am very excited to have this opportunity.
