About 3 ½ year ago when Halle was 9, she was diagnosed with CRPS or Amplified Pain Syndrome in her left leg. For the last three years, Halle has undergone a lot of different treatments as well as trial and error with different medications. There is no real cure for CRPS, but with lots of therapy Halle can live a normal healthy life. In February of 2025, Halle was referred to the Kansas City Children Mercy Hospital with a referral to see the pain clinic as Texas Children doctors thought that would be the best place to seek more advanced treatment for Halle.
Kansas City Children’s Mercy Hospital has a program called RAPS which is an intensive multidisciplinary service that treats children with severe pain and disability. Halle was accepted into the program as the doctors felt Halle would benefit greatly and see huge improvements in her life. The RAPS program is a 6–8-week program that is not covered by Halle's insurance and out of pocket cost is a total of 56,000.
