Help Kids with Disabilities Healing with (Rescue) Horses
Donation protected
Some of our children were told they could never live a normal life. All of our horses were rescued - some after life-long of racing until they became useless.
Why Every Moment Counts
Imagine a beautiful morning in Buccoo Tobago. You enter a sanctuary where children's laughter and the gentle sounds of nature blend harmoniously—a place where each nuzzle from our horses opens new doors to healing. At "Healing with Horses," we witness miraculous transformations every day, but to sustain this magic, your urgent support is essential.
What We Do at Healing with Horses
Our sanctuary is dedicated to using equine therapy to support individuals with special needs, fostering significant improvements in physical, emotional, and social development. We specialize in a range of therapeutic programs including:
- Equine Nature Therapy: Harnessing the serene power of nature and equine companionship.
- Art Therapy and School Sessions: Cultivating creativity and learning through tailored experiences. ✨
- Park Visits and Play Sessions: Exploring the outdoors for holistic wellness.
- Riddim Therapy: Integrating drumming and music for emotional and psychological healing.
Stories of Hope and Healing
Christiano’s Inspiring Journey:
Christiano Baird has been thriving with us since 2009. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, he began his journey at our sanctuary as a toddler. Through the years, he has found new strength and joy through our equine therapy sessions, inspiring everyone with his progress and resilience.
The Healing Power of Rescued Horses:
Our horses, each a survivor with their own story of resilience, are central to our healing community. They provide essential support to individuals with diverse needs, helping over 150 sponsored participants find empowerment and recovery.
Urgent Needs That Cannot Wait
$5,000 for New Fencing: Ensuring a safe space for our guests and their equine healers. We almost lost our Horse Princess Julie when she fell head-first from a cliff over 40 feet high.
$10,000 for a Transportation Truck: More horses mean more opportunities for healing. Like Apollo and Brian helping us reach those in need.
$30,000 to Renovate Our Stables: Our horses deserve a sanctuary that heals them as much as they heal others.
How You Can Help and Save Lives
We know times are challenging, but every action, big or small, helps illuminate the path to a better tomorrow. If you cannot donate, sharing our story with friends and family is equally powerful.
Every donation, no matter the size, and every share of our story, contributes to our mission. Whether it’s $1 or $5,000, your generosity fosters an environment of healing and growth:
- Donate $1,000: Receive a unique trail swim session with our horses—a meditative blend of nature and connection.
- Donate $2,000: Spend a rejuvenating afternoon with one of our dedicated coaches, experiencing the joy and depth of our daily activities.
- Donate $5,000: Become a godparent to one of our magical herd members and receive monthly updates, bringing you closer to the heart of our mission.
