Ian worked for 5 years for the Peace Operations Training Institute, an organization that supports the training and work of UN Peacekeepers around the world. Ian is a longtime supporter of UNHCR and believer in their mission.

Alena's favorite holiday is Passover for its message to "be kind to the stranger, for you were once strangers in the land of Egypt." Supporting refugee communities honors this value.

We love the idea of the charitable donations in honor of our wedding making a difference around the world (UNHCR) and in our current home of DC (DC Central Kitchen). Thank you!
