Join Isabella & Avery in Aiding Dana-Farber

Hello! Our names are Isabella Gutierrez and Avery Klinger, we are two 8th grade students doing a Civics project to raise money for a fundraiser of our choice. We chose to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, since we have recently lost family members due to cancer. Our goal is to not only raise money but also awareness to prevent this life taking illness that has not only affected our families but families and communities all over the world. All the money donated will be given to the Dana-Farber Cancer Research fund.

Hi my name is Isabella, last summer my mother, Geraldine passed away from cancer after an eight year long battle.

She always kept a smile on her face and stayed strong throughout the years for her family. Dana Farber Cancer Institute was such a significant and impactful part of my Mother's journey. I wanted to take this opportunity to give back to such an amazing foundation as I am so beyond grateful for everything they did for my Mother. As well as for others that may be or have been in the same situation as my family and I. I thank you for taking the time to read through this project we put together and any donations are greatly appreciated.

Hi, my name is Avery and February of 2023 I had my very close family friend pass away from cancer. She had only been diagnosed a few months before her time of death and it really affected so many people around me and her. After her passing it really started affecting me and the way I thought about cancer and how it is always making an affect on someone’s life. This also wasn’t the first time, I had been affected by cancer in my close personal life. 10 years ago when I was little my grandma also was diagnosed with cancer in her brain and when it was finally found it was too late. After feeling what it’s like to lose multiple people in my life due to cancer I would like to do as much as I can to prevent it and help find solutions to prevent it in the future.
