Support "Italians on the Move" Photo Project

Hi, my name is Olmo Fattorini. I am an Italian visual storyteller and freelance photographer.

I migrated to Toronto in 2018, hoping to explore Canada while traveling and working. I was captured by the vibrancy this city has to offer amongst the multiculturalism and job opportunities. I eventually changed my plans and decided to consider Toronto a city to establish a permanent home base.

By aiming to build a bridge between different generations of Italians and Italo-Canadians, the project seeks to connect and renew the community. This exchange of resources and experiences is crucial for preserving Italian tradition and culture in Toronto.

Secondly, I wish to share the lessons I've learned, the connections I've forged, and the experiences I've accumulated in the hopes of inspiring young Italians who may want to explore living abroad.

I am creating an exhibit to present these experiences through photography and the stories of each participant.

"Italians on the Move" is a series of environmental portraits and research based on the young Italians who moved to Toronto, Canada, within the last decade.
The project wants to showcase their faces and document their stories, thus raising awareness about migration and integration in Toronto through the experiences of each subject and how they contributed to the Italian Community in Toronto.

As you all may know, with the many economic challenges around the globe, it has become even more challenging to keep up with the relevant cost of living in Toronto like many other Metropolitan cities in the world.

I've already created the project and interviewed the subjects with my equipment, time, and resources involved.

Now I'm asking for support and engagement to develop the photographs that would make this project tangible to people.

The cost of printing, framing and setting up the show in Toronto is $3500.
The cost of shipping prints to Italy is $500.

Overall, "Italians on the Move" is a meaningful initiative that not only celebrates the journeys of young Italians in Toronto but also serves as a catalyst for community engagement and cultural preservation.

Your help would be much appreciated. Please share this project with anyone you know who can help me with this goal.

Thank you,
Olmo
