Join Jake & Fight Leukemia
This August, our friend and colleague Jake McCarthy was diagnosed with Leukemia APL. We know Jake in the workplace as our friendly cargo short-wearing, loafer-boasting, perm-flashing, huggable teddy bear, but he’s also a loving husband and father. For years, Jake has helped support the GDIST family as part of its backbone, so we have put together this GoFundMe in his honor to be part of his backbone.
All funds donated will go directly to the Leukemia Research Foundation, which was established over 70 years ago right here in our city of Chicago. The Leukemia Research Foundation is “dedicated to conquering all blood cancers by funding research into their causes and cures, and enriching the quality of life of those touched by these diseases.” The Foundation awards $100,000 grants to individual applicants looking to progress blood cancer research and share their results with the scientific and medical communities. The Foundation has raised more than $85 million since its inception. With our joint donation goal of $25,000, we can fund 1/4 of the next grant.
