Hi, I’m Janette. You may not know me, but chances are you’ve met my friend, Gregory Conn. It took him awhile to get over his pride and allow me to put something out there in hopes of helping him, and to say he is in desperate need of help is not an overstatement. (TLDR below)

Here’s how he explained it to me:

“Almost 5 years ago, right before the shutdown, I got very sick with what we now believe was COVID-19. I never fully recovered. Since then, I’ve had several more bouts of COVID and, with each one, I get worse. We are not positive they’re related but, in short, every bodily system is shutting down:

· Currently my Thyroid is “offline”, my Adrenal glands have stopped working, and multiple tumors have been located in my nonfunctioning pituitary glands.

· We can treat the thyroid, try and jumpstart the Adrenal, and we’re looking at February to start chemo for the Pituitary

· My entire Cardio/Pulmonary system is completely out of whack. Something as simple as emptying the dishwasher can cause an asthma attack that leaves me incapacitated for 30 minutes. My heart rate seems to explode at the same time.

· In addition, my resting heart rate will randomly jump to 140 or higher. I am currently using a machine to help me breathe at night, and another to administer medication throughout the day.

· I hope to check into the hospital in January for a battery of new tests to find a more permanent solution.

· Something is causing systematic inflammation, which is in turn leading to kidney failure, vision loss, hearing loss, large scale weight gain, migraines, and every skin problem known to man from eczema to rosacea to constant deep bruising (my arms look like a UFC fighter). In addition, I go through random inflammation periods where, literally overnight, my body swells to such a degree my feet can’t fit into my shoes, my glasses can’t fit on my swollen face, much less most clothing. My skin looks like the worst sunburn imaginable, and I am constantly peeling and shedding.

· The inflammation is also destroying my dental health. We’re still trying to figure this out: there are experimental non steroid anti-inflammatory treatments available but, of course, they are not covered by insurance.

To put it honestly - physically, emotionally, financially…I’m completely empty. For the past 4 years I have been too ill to work and faced the daunting task of identifying and treating an unknown chronic illness.”

TLDR; He is close to losing his insurance (6 months from now) and is unsure of the future of Medicaid. So, as you can see, this is time-sensitive, as Gregory will not be able to work until he gets treatment, which will cost about $30K and take about 6 months.

$5K – Gregory keeps his car, so he can go to doctor appointments and treatments

$5K – Gregory keeps his teeth, so he can eat healthy foods and flash that million-dollar smile

$10K – Gregory can pay bills for 6 months, and some past-due bills for previous treatment

$10K – Gregory can continue (and start new) medical treatment that is not covered by insurance

Hi, it’s Janette again.

Gregory and I met in 2018. We were instant bosom buddies (because we were both playing women in a show – get it???), and I knew we would be dear friends through thick and thin. Gregory was so supportive of me following my breast cancer diagnosis, but appropriately saddened when he found out that I would be moving back to Texas at the end of 2019. The years and distance have only made me feel more sure of our friendship for one another, because Gregory is just that dear!

I’ve known about his increasing medical issues as the time has gone on, but there’s very little that just little ol’ me can do to make a difference, long term. That’s where YOU come in!
