Join Jaxon's Fight Against ATRT

Jaxon is a 21-month-old boy with a smile that lights up any room. Curious, silly, and full of love and life, he adores his family and was especially excited about becoming a big brother to Brooks, who is now 4 weeks old.

Two weeks ago, everything changed for Jaxon and his family. What began as a routine trip to the hospital turned into the devastating news that Jaxon had a brain tumor. He underwent emergency brain surgery, which thankfully removed 99%-100% of the tumor. However, a few days later, his parents, Crystal and Mark, heard the words no parent should ever hear: "Your child has cancer." Jaxon was diagnosed with ATRT, a rare and aggressive pediatric brain cancer that occurs most often in children aged 3 and younger. The devastation, fear, and shock that followed are indescribable.

What should be a joyous time at home, welcoming a new baby and celebrating their growing family, has now turned into round-the-clock care to give Jaxon the best chance at beating this. For the next six months, Jaxon will undergo treatments, mostly inpatient, including chemotherapy, radiation, stem cell transplants, and more. These treatments will take place at Hartford Children’s Hospital, Boston Children’s, and Mass General. Crystal and Mark will be staying at the hospital for the next 6 months, ensuring Jaxon always has his mom or dad by his side while also arranging childcare for their newborn son.

During these next six months, Crystal will be unable to return to work due to the need for Jaxon’s constant care. This GoFundMe campaign aims to support the family through Jaxon’s treatments, covering lost wages, medical expenses, travel expenses for out-of-state care, and childcare for their newborn son. Our goal is to ensure Jaxon receives the absolute best care possible during this unfathomable time.
