Join Joey's Fight: Donate for His Cancer Treatment

Hello! First of all, thank you for being here and for your support!

I am Jini, Joey’s sister, and I am rallying our friends, family, and community to support my little brother, Joey, in his fight against Stage 2 testicular cancer.

In the summer of 2023, Joey was diagnosed with Stage 1 testicular cancer. The tumor was able to be removed without the need for radiation or chemotherapy, and Joey was cancer-free as confirmed by quarterly CT scans and bloodwork.

In October 2024, a recent scan showed evidence of a new tumor forming in his abdomen, and he was diagnosed with Stage 2 cancer. As such, he will be beginning chemotherapy in November 2024. This news comes as a devastating blow that is not only physically but financially difficult. As this treatment is incredibly expensive and Joey will be unable to work throughout his treatment, we are asking for donations to help support his medical bills and travel expenses that will allow his family to support him in Chicago throughout his treatment.

Joey is an amazing human being, always looking out for others in his work as well as his personal life. His chosen career involves aiding unhoused individuals in the Chicago area to gain housing, career opportunities, healthcare, and a multitude of other resources. As he is unable to use public transportation while in treatment, his work will be put on hold. So while his aid to others is on pause, it’s time for us to rally together to help him.

It doesn’t come easy for Joey to share this publicly, but no fight is won in isolation.

The purpose of this page is to build a support fund to cover transportation, treatment, medical expenses, follow-up care, travel expenses, basic needs, and much more—all centered around helping him get through the difficult journey ahead.
