Join Josh Nielsen's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
We are raising funds for our sweet brother, Josh Nielsen. Josh was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer on April 2, 2024. Through many appointments and tests since then, the cancer seems to be localized (thankfully) but will require aggressive treatments to be reduced and removed. We are facing a long journey ahead of us.
Josh began his IV chemo treatments on Monday, June 3rd and will continue with these treatments every other week for four months. Once his IV chemo treatments are complete, he will begin radiation along with chemo pills for the following two months. At that stage, his surgeon will assess the results of the treatment to determine if surgery will be necessary, which is likely. Even with insurance, Josh will still have considerable out-of-pocket expenses. This fund will aid in relieving the financial burden of Josh’s treatments, medications, surgery, follow-up appointments, and potential loss of income, along with ensuring his comfort during this process.
Josh is a true beam of light with a huge personality. His knack for storytelling, kind heart, and sense of humor brightens even the darkest days. His gusto for cooking and generous hospitality enriches and thrills anyone who has gathered around his table. His passion spills out of his kitchen and into his garden where he spends most of his time—and what a beautiful garden it is! His care and concern for the feelings of others always takes priority. He wears his heart on his sleeve, so it’s easy to feel his love when embraced by one of his famous bear hugs. We now ask for your support to light the long and difficult road ahead for Josh.
As many of you may know, the Nielsen family has also just endured the very sudden and tragic loss of our father, Arne Nielsen on June 3, 2024. Aiding Josh on his path to recovery is the greatest support for our family during this trying time. Any amount you are willing to contribute is immensely appreciated, and if you aren't able to contribute money at this time, sharing this GoFundMe with your friends and family would mean the world to us. Thank you so much!
