Hello, I am Lynea Kalenze, a 20-year resident of the Highlands in Chaska, MN. The beauty of living in Chaska and our wonderful neighborhood has been the location, people, and the small town feel that has been established. One of the highlights is having a little bit of country remaining, but our community lost a very important member a few weeks ago. A member that brought the country feel, education, and community to our area. Spirit, the beautiful Rocky Mountain Horse, was loved by many. We recently lost Spirit to Liver Cancer. Spirit was Julie's sole mate, passion in life and her family. Julie needs another horse! I have spoken with Julie and Jeri, the owner of the property, and we all agree that finding a horse for Julie is a must for all! We are all focused on finding a horse that will be a great fit for kids who stop by with carrots, folks who that maybe their first time petting a horse on the streets in Chaska, or the many neighbors who stop by and visit with Julie as she let her horse graze on the side of the road.

Julie posted to the Chaska Underground Facebook page and described herself as a disabled senior Veteran who "needed Spirit more than anything in her life." Julie said, "I do not have kids, I had my horse, and when I was with my horse, I didn't have to be anything else; I could just be me."

Julie has extensive vet bills, and the cost of new horses is not cheap. Jeri and I will assist Julie in finding her new horse, and I will cover the transportation to bring that horse home! We need help. Please donate to Julie's new horse fund.
