Join Kade's Fight Against Congenital CMV
Tax deductible
To honor and support our son Kade, we are raising funds for the National CMV Foundation.
Kade's story is one of resilience. Born with Congenital CMV, a condition caused by cytomegalovirus (CMV) passed from mother to child during pregnancy, Kade faces challenges like cerebral palsy, feeding difficulties, developmental delays, vision impairment (CVI), and hearing loss.
Despite these obstacles, Kade inspires us with his daily determination. Therapies and hard work are his path to learning to walk, talk, and play.
All donations will go to the National CMV Foundation to support their mission: "To prevent pregnancy loss, childhood death, and disability due to congenital CMV."
Congenital CMV is a condition that a baby can develop if they are infected with cytomegalovirus (CMV) before birth. CMV is a common virus, but for pregnant women, it can pose a risk to their unborn child.
Most people with CMV have no symptoms. CMV can be passed from a pregnant woman to her baby during pregnancy. Most babies with congenital CMV appear healthy at birth, but some may develop hearing loss, vision problems, or intellectual disabilities.
Protect yourself and your baby:
Talk to your doctor about CMV.
Practice good hygiene, like washing your hands often.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Early detection is key! If you're pregnant, talk to your doctor about getting tested for CMV.
