Just three days after her premature birth, our sweet daughter Leilynn suffered a life-threatening collapsed lung. Although doctors rushed to save her, the insertion of the chest caused unexpected and devastating damage.

Shortly after were hit with the heartbreaking news that the chest tube had completely destroyed her esophagus and that it was beyond repair and no hope of saving it. Due to this setback, Baby Leilynn has had to be fed through a feeding tube for the past 3 months and 3 weeks.

But recently, a miracle has appeared in the form of a specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital who believes that her esophagus can be saved. He has given us hope with his expertise and Leilynn the chance to eat, grow, and thrive like any other baby.

Leilyn has now been transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital, who have started the evaluations process for her complex surgery that could change everything.

Leilynn has spent most of her life inside, away from the world, and has only briefly felt fresh air on her cheeks. Please help us bring her home with any donation—large or small—that will go toward:

Nuestra hija Leilynn llegó al mundo antes de tiempo y luchando por su vida. Apenas tres días después de su nacimiento prematuro, sufrió un colapso pulmonar que puso en riesgo su vida. En la urgencia por salvarla, los médicos le colocaron un tubo en el pecho. Pero, en un giro inimaginable, el procedimiento causó un daño devastador: el tubo destruyó su esófago más allá de lo que se creía posible reparar- o eso fue lo que nos dijeron.

Desde entonces, Leilynn no ha podido alimentarse por sí sola. Ha pasado los primeros meses de su vida en la UCIN, sobreviviendo con una sonda de alimentación, soportando múltiples cirugías y demostrando una fuerza y resiliencia milagrosas para un cuerpo tan pequeño.

Pero ahora, la esperanza ha llegado a nosotros.

Un especialista del Hospital Infantil de Boston cree que su esófago puede salvarse. Ve un camino hacia adelante para Leilynn, uno que podría permitirle comer, crecer y desarrollarse como cualquier otro bebé. Ya ha sido trasladada a Boston para ser evaluada y, posiblemente, recibir la compleja cirugía que podría cambiarlo todo.

Leilynn ha pasado casi cada momento de su vida entre las paredes de un hospital, y solo ha sentido el sol en sus mejillas una vez. Todo lo que queremos es llevarla a casa y darle la oportunidad de vivir la hermosa vida que se merece.
