On January 25, 2023, our dear friend, Liz Miranda was diagnosed with breast cancer. If you know Liz the way I do, you know she is fighting cancer, once again, with all of the dignity, grace, and strength a person could possess. Liz and I have been great friends for almost thirty years! I met Liz when she was a young, single mom struggling on her own to support her two daughters. I became a proud and honorary family member when she asked me to be her daughter's Godmother. Through the years, I have witnessed her courage and inner strength in countless ways through the myriad of life's challenges. Cancer has been her toughest challenge yet. She has beaten it once before and she will beat it once again. Liz has to be the toughest and perhaps the most determined woman I know! While her strength is admirable, her compassion and kindness for others is even greater. Liz loves her family and friends fiercely and has been everyone’s biggest supporter. It is time for us to rally around our dear friend to help her battle this recurring disease.
Liz has two beautiful daughters, Vanessa and Eryka. She has three grandchildren she adores: Dylan (5), Hannah (3), and Jayden (1). Liz lives for her children, her grandchildren, and her rescue fur babies Chico, Penny, and Luna. She works tirelessly to ensure she is there for everyone. She’s also an incredible employee and colleague at Tucson Electric Power where she has worked and devoted twenty-five years of her life as an office support specialist. I have personally witnessed the incredible rapport she has with all of her coworkers and supervisors at TEP. Liz is well-loved and respected by the countless lives she has touched over her years of service. I am always in awe of my best friend during the times I have had the pleasure of accompanying her to her company dinners and events and community service events where she volunteers much of her time.
On April 21st, Liz will undergo major surgery with a bilateral mastectomy. In weeks to come weeks later she will begin 6 weeks of radiation treatment and in months to come will also undergo reconstructive surgeries. Our hope with this campaign is to help to cover Liz's medical costs and help alleviate the financial burden that this life-changing medical diagnosis will bring upon her. Your generosity and support will come at a perfect time to alleviate her stress. Liz is a very private person who has worked hard all of her life to take care of her family and friends. The last thing she wants is to burden her loved ones by asking for financial support, so I am reaching out on her behalf. I am happy and proud to do this for such a wonderful human being and loving best friend. Any amount you can donate towards her incurred medical expenses will be so appreciated.
Please keep Liz and her family in your thoughts and prayers as she begins her battle against breast cancer.
We love you Liz! You got this!
