With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we share the news that our beloved Mauosamoa Fogalele Epati has passed away, leaving a void that can never be filled. Mau, with her infectious laughter, humble spirit, and boundless joy, has profoundly impacted everyone she met, leaving an permanent mark on our hearts. Beyond her immediate circle, Mau's influence extended into the community, within our church, and especially among the youth, where her vibrant spirit and positive energy inspired many to embrace life with God’s love and kindness.

Her journey on Earth, though brief, was filled with moments that uplifted and inspired countless individuals as she continued to honour God throughout her journey. We are eternally grateful to have been blessed with her presence for 21 remarkable years. Mau's spirit, now free from the constraints of pain, rests peacefully with her Creator, her legacy of love and service continuing to resonate within her loved ones and her community.

As the family now embark on organising the final celebration of Mau's extraordinary life, we are faced with the immense challenge of managing the financial aspects of her funeral. We ask for your prayers and support. Any contribution, no matter the size, would significantly alleviate the financial burden the family is bearing during this difficult time, and in turn, we pray for blessings upon each and every person who extends their hand in assistance. Your contributions, prayers, and thoughts during this challenging time are more appreciated than words can express. Together, let us honour the beautiful life of Mauosamoa Fogalele Epati and keep her memory alive in our hearts and actions.

On behalf of Mauosamoa's family, first and foremost we thank God for his unconditional love, he has brought incredibly kind-hearted people into our lives.
We also want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and love you've shown through our GoFundMe campaign. We appreciate all the donors who have already contributed. Your support has been a cornerstone in this journey. Your generosity has not only met but also exceeded our initial fundraising target in such a short amount of time and we are truly grateful. Considering the overwhelming response, we have graciously chosen to discontinue receiving further donations. We believe that the funds raised will significantly help to cover the necessary expenses and will relieve the financial pressure to Mau’s immediate family allowing them to focus entirely on Mau's healing journey. The GoFundMe Page will remain active, but only for the purpose of sharing updates on Mau’s progress.
Once again, we sincerely thank you for the outpouring of love which has deeply touched our family. Our hearts are full and we are so truly thankful. We pray the Lord will bless you all in abundance for your generosity and kindness.

Meet Mauosamoa, our radiant 21-year-old niece, who has recently faced a life-altering challenge. On January 2, 2024, Mau received a diagnosis of Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. The preceding weeks were a harrowing time for her, marked by intense and invasive tests, excruciating pain, and uncertainty. Doctors discovered a significant mass in her abdomen and excess fluid impacting her organs, causing severe breathing difficulties. This necessitated high-flow oxygen support, frequent fluid drainage, and an urgent ICU admission due to her increasing heart rate.

Despite these trials, Mau's spirit remains unbroken. Her faith is unwavering, and she continually reminds us that God is in control. Mau comes from a big loving family, is 1 of 6 siblings, known for her beautiful & humble nature. Her devotion to worship, her role in the church's worship team and youth activities, and her full-time job at a local pharmacy speak volumes of her commitment to her community and loved ones.

The journey forward is intimidating, involving rigorous chemotherapy and regular journeys of over 150km to Melbourne for treatment. With most of Mau's extended family in New Zealand, there is limited family support physically. Mau's mum (Nancy), who is the main financial provider, must take more time off work to care for Mau, leading to substantial financial strains, including rent, food, and costs associated with medical travel.

In response, we've set up this GoFundMe to alleviate some of the financial pressures for her immediate family over the coming months, your contribution would be truly appreciated to allow the focus to be on Mau's healing journey.

We are so grateful for your generosity and prayers in supporting Mau and her courageous fight against cancer.
