Hi friends,
I am celebrating my 25th birthday this year May 16 and would love your support in one of my dreams to support youths from underserved communities in STEM. On behalf of my organization, EKO Global Foundation we would like to officially start the GINAE (Gender Is Not An Excuse) fellowship and your funds will help us support three college students from less privileged homes from Africa pursuing STEM programs.
GINAE fellowship is an initiative by EKO Global Foundation focused on combating gender-based discrimination in STEM and promoting positive role models for women in this field. It aims to eliminate discrimination in its various forms—self-imposed, societal, or cultural—that limit the potential of women. By showcasing role models, the campaign offers inspiring examples of women in STEM who have succeeded despite barriers.
The program seeks to accomplish its goals through a variety of methods, including a financial award for educational materials such as laptops, school uniform and stationaries, professional development workshops and a 1-year mentorship program.
The key objectives are:
Empowerment and Education: GINAE provides specialized training for young girls to enhance their intellectual growth and social well-being. It also offers educational enrichment to help them understand the various specializations within their STEM field.
Career Preparation: The program aims to equip young girls with the skills and knowledge needed to overcome challenges in their career paths, focusing on responsible conduct and a positive self-image.
Mentoring and Role Models: GINAE establishes mentoring programs that involve both group sessions and one-on-one guidance. This approach allows young girls to connect with successful women in science, fostering a network of support and encouragement.
Overall, the GINAE fellowship is designed to create a supportive environment that not only combats discrimination but also empowers young girls to pursue and excel in science-related careers. Through its comprehensive approach, GINAE aspires to build a community that values respect, diversity, and inclusion, ultimately encouraging more women to pursue and thrive in STEM fields.
Donation is opened till July 31. As Usual, EKO Global Foundation will send all donors a report of how your donation was used for this goal.
Thank you so much for celebrating my birthday with me and helping support my dream come through.
