Join Nicole's Battle Against Stage 4 Breast Cancer

I am Nicole Lawrence Daniels “Aunt Cathy” and “Nana” to her kids. I am asking for help to support Nicole as she and her family move forward in her continuing cancer treatment.

Nicole was diagnosed with breast cancer in January of 2023 at just 35 years old. She went through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation. It was incredibly hard, but she was strong and made it through. We were so hopeful that she was cured.

This spring, however, she began to cough and have pain. A scan showed that the cancer had returned, now in her lungs. She has, again, done rounds of chemotherapy, but the type of breast cancer she has is rare and has been very “chemo-resistant”. She is now in stage 4 of metaplastic, triple negative breast cancer.

Nicole’s oncologist in Albuquerque has referred her to MD Anderson Cancer Research Hospital in Houston. She has been accepted for a trial there, which we are very grateful for. It does require, however, for her and a companion (she cannot be alone for the procedure) to fly to Houston every two weeks. Depending on the availability of housing at the center, she may also need hotel nights and transportation. We do not know how long this treatment journey will need to be so every little bit can help.

Nicole is the mother of 4 children under 10 years old. Her husband, Craig, and these children are the light of her life. Craig is the sole financial support for the family. Taking care of 4 young children, however, is hard, especially when travel like this is required.

So, I am humbly asking for help. Plane fares, hotels, Ubers, childcare, and the ever-increasing medical bills, even with insurance, add up.

Nicole and Craig have a very strong faith. I watch them teach their little ones the power of faith, family and prayer daily. The Daniels’ home is loud and sometimes a little crazy, but it is filled with love and laughter. I pray continually that this may be so for many, many years to come. Please join me in that prayer.
