Lurie Cup: Support Lurie Children's Hospital
Tax deductible
Growing up, childhood struggles with eating and persistent vomiting led me on a journey through various hospitals. It was at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago that I finally found answers. Diagnosed with the rare condition of portal hypertension, my portal vein faced excessive pressure, disrupting the normal flow of blood.
The dedicated doctors at Lurie Children’s Hospital became my saving grace. Through two Rex-shunt operations, they crafted a new passage for the blood, connecting my jugular vein to my stomach. These procedures were not just medical interventions; they were the threads that wove the fabric of my survival.
Months of recovery in Chicago followed, filled with regular check-ins and unwavering support from the hospital. Now, I'm deeply grateful and committed to giving back. I make it my goal to hold yearly soccer tournaments within the community, raising money to give back to the hospital. But I want to give an opportunity for all to help, as I know our community is amazing in this way. Your generous donations to this cause mean more than words can express.
