Tax deductible
We are raising money on behalf of the LT Michael P Murphy foundation. LT Murphy was a Navy SEAL who was killed in combat during Operation Red Wings in 2005. To honor his legacy, every Memorial Day many people do the "Murph Challenge" - this year we would like to do it to challenge ourselves, and also to raise money for his memorial foundation. We have also invited many friends to do the challenge with us.
The LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation (501c3) was founded in 2007 by Michael’s parents, Dan and Maureen Murphy, along with Michael’s brother, John. Michael was an avid reader who felt that education was key. In fact, his favorite saying was “Education will set you free”.
The challenge is a workout consisting of a one mile run, 300 body-weight squats, 200 push-ups, 100 pull-ups and then another one mile run. LT Murphy called this workout "Body Armor'. Thank you.
