Help Savant Studios write its next chapter...

Hi, my name is Erik and I am fundraising on behalf of Savant Studios and its founder Michael Graham aka Mike Grapes. 

On the evening of Wednesday, September 1st, 2021, New York City was ravaged by a storm caused by the remnants of a hurricane that struck New Orleans just days earlier. The historic weather event brought devastating winds and large rainfall totals that caused massive flooding to numerous residential homes and businesses throughout the city's five boroughs. One of the hardest hit communities was the Fulton street location of Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, which is home to clothing brand and neighborhood staple Savant Studios.

The store front location at 1463 Fulton street in Brooklyn, NY suffered extensive damage to its ground level and basement area. Some of the many items that were lost or destroyed as a result of the storm - ranged from production equipment, inventory, vintage art, furniture, shipping products, computers, printers, sewing machines, raw materials and shop essentials.

Opening its doors in August of 2019, Savant Studios is a clothing store and an artistic meeting ground that has rapidly developed into a staple of the Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn community. More than just a boutique or clothing brand, Savant Studios serves its neighborhood by being a vessel for creative expression and community building that is unlike anything that I have experienced in a post-gentrified New York City. 

As a hub for artists and individuals from all walks of life, Savant Studios is an unconscious assimilation of knowledge and ideas. Faithful patrons aren’t just supporting a business, they’re supporting a living, breathing epicenter for culture and inclusivity at a time when our city and the world needs it most.

All of our cameras are gone, all of our lighting and the art in there is all done, but we got us and that's what we've been building. We've been building a community, and the community can't get flooded."
