Contribute to Shane's Fight Against Bulbar ALS

On October 5th, our family’s world was turned upside down when our brother Shane received a devastating diagnosis, Bulbar ALS. This form of ALS is severely aggressive and in its cruel progression, it will eventually affect his breathing and motor functions. Every day brings new challenges, making time our most precious commodity in this fight. Shane is facing this head-on with the courage we’ve always known him for.

Shane’s life now demands rapid and substantial adjustments. His home must be equipped with ramps, accessible furniture, and an adapted bathroom, and we need to address a leaking roof urgently. Beyond these immediate needs, he is confronted with overwhelming medical bills, regular doctor appointments, and the cost of essential, specialized equipment. As Shane’s work capabilities decline, the financial strain is mounting.

Our family is rallying around Shane, but we face significant challenges. With three kids in school, and Kim, Shane's loving wife, now gearing up to take on the full responsibilities of parenting and caregiving, the absence of Shane’s physical and financial support will be deeply felt.

Currently, Shane loves to be around his grandchildren, his wife and kids, his dogs Ranger and Mazey, and the family chickens. He has a love for helping people (especially with fix-ups and mechanics) and loves to strike up conversations with everyone he comes in contact with.
