Support Stefan Knight’s Family

Hi friends and community! We are April Knight and Stefanie Wolf, and we're raising money for Stefan Knight and his family. Stefan is April's brother and my dear friend. We are raising funds to help support Stefan and his family while Stefan undergoes a liver transplant this July.

In case you don't already know Stefan Knight, he is an island kid from West Tisbury and graduated from the regional high school here. We'd like to tell you about this incredible individual. Stefan is a health practitioner, husband, active community member, small business owner and the father of two boys Ethan (15) and Alex (9). Stefan started his island business, Vineyard Pilates & Bodywork, over 20 years ago. Stefan is a Body Centered Therapist and teacher who is an inspiration and healing influence on countless lives.

Over the past decade, Stefan has been dealing with serious health challenges and now he needs our help. Stefan was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, 11 years ago, which has caused severe damage to his liver. The strain on his health and vitality has been a long slow decline. Recently, we learned that one of the amazing people from our community who volunteered to be a donor is in fact a match in providing a live liver donation. The medical team has planned to perform the transplant on July 24, 2024.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to alleviate the financial burden on Stefan and his family so they can focus entirely on healing. While Stefan's insurance will cover the medical care directly related to the transplant, surgeries, and rehabilitation, there are many costs both past and future that are not covered. So we are calling on the community to help this wonderful family. Give what you can, any amount is helpful.

As you can imagine, receiving a liver transplant will pose serious physical, emotional, and financial challenges for Stefan and his family. He will need to be out of work for several months. Stefan's wife Jennifer and their two boys are on this bumpy ride with him.
