My name is Dave Paul. I'm a husband, a father, a little league coach and a friend of the Groshong family.

Jamie had a life-changing event this week, and faces huge consequences for something that happened in an instant. His hand was badly injured in a fireworks accident and had to be amputated. His baseball dreams are tragically over. But he has so much to offer and so much to live for! Let's help Jamie live the best life he can live! Please help him to get the best prosthetic hand available and offset his family's huge medical bills.

If you know Jamie, you know that he brings a smile to many faces. You know that his personality makes you feel warm inside and like you’ve known him forever. You know that he is genuine, kind and generous in so many ways. You know that he is an amazing friend and would do anything for his friends and family. You know that he loves playing baseball and absolutely everything about it. Baseball was his life and he had an amazing work ethic to prove that. He was voted All-Conference three times throughout his high school career. He was also the 2023 MVP of the Sacramento Optimist All-Stars and made the 2023 All-Metro team.

Whether you know him or not, we all know that his accident is tragic and unfair. Sadly, a quick bad decision changed his life when the firework exploded in his hand. Hard lessons were learned. But the consequences will be felt forever. Despite the devastation and his and our hearts breaking, WE have to help him refocus, believe in himself, and know that he has so many strengths that will take him so far in life. It’s going to take time. A lot of time. It’s also going to take money for him to be able go through the considerable recovery process in his near future. His expected expenses will be more than anyone wants to imagine.
