UPDATE:
Thank you everyone who has donated and given so generously to helping Shana her fight through cancer. Shana has finished her first round of chemotherapy and was able to come home yesterday.
Because this chemotherapy treatment can cause a drop in blood cell count, Shana must receive a shot at the end of her five day treatments to keep her blood levels up. A shot is $10,000 .
Insurance is currently fighting to pay for this, but she must have it. So please continue to share this go fund me and circulate it so we can keep the financial support coming in for JR and Shana.

Shana Vanproyen is one of the most vibrant, full-of-life, lover of people I have ever known. Her energy and enthusiasm for her Lord Jesus and serving Him is contagious! Shana is heavily involved in her community of Sequim and Port Angeles. She is a teacher, works with the youth at the juvenile detention center, teaches and guides with afterschool programs such as the “Edge Program,” has worked with Obria, and gives so much of her time to her church and absolutely loves to spend time with her husband JR, her four kids and her grandkids!
Just A couple of weeks ago, she was diagnosed with cancer: B-cell Lymphoma, along with a very large tumor that was found in her lung tissue near her heart.it is imperative she start treatment immediately to shrink the tumor.
As you can imagine, Her world has been turned upside down as she has been pulled away from her life on the Peninsula with her work, volunteering, teaching and time with her family to undergo chemotherapy at Swedish.
While her desire has been to treat this cancer as holistically as possible using integrative oncology, diet change and juicing, because the tumor has grown so quickly and its placement is near vital organs she must start with chemotherapy to shrink the tumor.
Shana will go for five-day intervals, staying overnight at Swedish to receive chemotherapy, with a 16-day break in between treatments. This will be for 6 sessions. The road ahead is long.
With the cost of travel, ferries, parking, not working, and the cost of the treatments themselves we are looking to raise enough funds to cover all expenses needed.
This is easy to do when everyone gives, even a little. A little can go a Long way!
If you have ever known Shana, you know that she is 100% the real deal. She pours herself into her friendships and her work, she loves to give and serve. So I ask you to please consider giving to help ease the load. Let’s show her how big her community is from the amount that she has poured into it and US.
With the Lord’s power, together, with her friends and family, we can help to carry her through to the other side.
