Hey, Pastor lisa and a gaggle of teens here...from Wollaston Church of the Nazarene and Bethel Church of the Nazarene's "Teen Extreme" Youth Groups, asking for your help.
A few weeks ago, one of our teens, after our season exploring what it means to be a Jesus-follower in this world, felt the Lord's leading upon his heart to create a mission's effort to folks in our community. He knew that God was calling him but wasn't quite sure where God might lead.
Following conversations and prayerful discernment, both Wolly and Bethel teens have felt led to support the mission of Father Bill's and Mainspring, a local nonprofit that supports families and individuals experiencing what it means to be unhoused. Specifically, we are partnering with FBMS' Evelyn House, an emergency shelter in Stoughton that provides emergency shelter to families facing homelessness.
While we are working to provide a storage shed for Evelyn House for the Winter, where kids and their families will be able to store bikes, toys, and other bits and bobbles, we are also hoping to run book drives throughout the warmer months in order to create a more robust library for our friends over in Stoughton. Our kids understand the power of books and words...to spark curiosity, to stretch the imagination, and offer a doorway into new, and often, magical worlds. Books are a place where kids can be kids, exploring and imagining and creating wonder.
Won't you help us, as we work to be in relationship and support our neighbors here on the South Shore and your young friends at Bethel and Wolly CoTN?
