Join the Fight: UCR Fight Team Needs Your Support

Our 2023 Fight Team is a group of dedicated college students at the University of California Riverside, who have been working hard to compete in the upcoming tournament at USIBA nationals in Lexington, Virginia on March 23rd. These college boxers have been balancing their studies with intense training. But they need your help.

Time is running out and expenses are quickly adding up. The plane tickets alone will cost the team around $10,000. And flying to the east coast is just the beginning. The venue is nowhere near an airport so we'll likely have to secure a van or bus tickets once we reach Virginia. Then there is the cost of hotel rooms and the multiple registration fees involved with the tournament. More importantly, we only have a small window to raise this money. If we don't raise enough soon, the cost of registration and plane tickets will skyrocket, making it impossible for fighters to attend the tournament.

The 10-week fight camp in preparation for the tournament has been particularly challenging this year because the fight team does not have complete access to a boxing gym. But this hasn't stopped our fighters from training 6 days a week. They get up early and do their training in parking lots if needed (even during this abnormally rainy winter season). They juggle college classes, part-time jobs, rent, and tuition on top of a grueling fight camp schedule. And on their free time, our fighters volunteer with at-risk youth in the Riverside community, teaching the value of education and physical fitness to the next generation. They are true examples of perseverance, dedication, and community service.

Your donation will help ensure that these hardworking college students can make it to Virginia and fight for glory. We are committed to representing our school and community with honor and pride.
