Dear Friends and Family,

We are reaching out during a challenging time as we navigate the impact of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) on Tom. CJD is a rare fatal brain disease that progresses rapidly, affecting one in a million people. During our journey with CJD, we have made the decision to donate Tom's brain to science for further research. This will contribute to the understanding of this complex disease, potentially paving the way for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

We are committed to providing the best possible care for Tom during this time. Hospice care is a very kind and thoughtful way to guide Tom and his family ever so compassionately through the end stages of life. If you feel compelled, we wanted to share this avenue via Go Fund Me for those that prefer to help in their own way (donations for care at Davis Hospice and other medical expenses). This can be done anonymously, and with no pressure.

Tom's strong and abiding faith has impacted countless people throughout his life. Thank you to SO many who have supported him in their own thoughtful and loving ways during this process. Your actions, thoughts, prayers, and love are more than we could have ever imagined.
