Join Us in Assisting Jason During His Recovery

This GoFundMe campaign is for my boyfriend, Jason Smith. You may also know him as Jorn the Raven with the Viking Encampment at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival or Officer Smith at the Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility.

On Monday, September 16, 2024, Jason had not been feeling well, complained of indigestion and chest pains. He ended up going to urgent care. While there, he was diagnosed as having an active heart attack and was transported via ambulance to two different hospitals.

Jason will be having open heart surgery on Monday, September 23, 2024, and will be out of work for at least 3 months, if not longer. Although he has insurance, a portion of his hospital stay and surgery will not be covered, and he will be out of work for a while.

We are hoping that this campaign will minimize the amount of medical debt Jason may incur and keep him from going into further debt while he recovers.

UPDATE: The triple bypass surgery went well. The Doctor said his heart is strong. I am so relieved & so thankful to the hospital staff and all of you for keeping him in your thoughts. The Doctor said he expects hims him to be back at the sheild wall next year entertaining all of you wonderful folks. Next step is his recovery. This man is a busy body and likes to be active.
