Heart of a Warrior Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Heart of a Warrior, Inc was established in February, 2021, as part of our dream to use our wonderful menagerie of animals as a way to uplift and bring joy to people dealing with chronic illness and life challenges. As part of this vision, our daughter, Arwen, started her own mounted archery club. The youth and young adults who were our first club members came from all backgrounds and home situations, but the thing they had in common was a love for horses and belief that they could do anything they wanted to. Over the following two years we had numerous visitors to the farm. Some came out to just snuggle with our animals. Others came out to watch a mounted archery practice and decided to try it out. And still others came to help do barn chores with Arwen, helping her feed Prince (her horse), our mini donkeys Callie, Aneda Rose, and Bo. Groom them and braid Prince's long mane. Just soak in their gentle and trusting spirit.
In January, 2023 our family underwent enormous changes and we have had to put Heart of Warrior, Inc on hold. While we are on this temporary hiatus, we still have our animal friends to care for. We have not done any fundraising until now, as we admit we need some help with some of the most important costs related to preventative care. Arwen's horse, Prince, spent most of 2023 recovering from severe ulcers, a costly treatment that we did not anticipate and insurance only partially covered. Now that we are through that, we are facing annual exams, vaccines, oral care and other needs for the upcoming months. Prince and the donkeys need their teeth floated, and we need to do a follow up Endoscopy to assure Prince's gastric health is staying normal.
Arwen and I humbly ask for your help and support as we gradually get back to what we want to be doing, which is letting people come and share in the magic of our little farm. We simply can't do it alone. Prince, Callie, Aneda Rose and Bo are so important to us, we consider them friends and are committed to providing them the best care possible. It's no less than what they deserve. If you feel compelled to help us accomplish this, with whatever you are able to offer, we would be so very grateful. Funds received will be used for annual exams and vaccines, teeth floating, endoscopy for Prince, and ongoing hoof care. As Aneda Rose is 19 years old she may also need management for arthritis which we will be addressing with the vet. We also need to replace the fans under the barn run-in. Summer months here in Virginia are very hot and humid, and those fans not only help move the air but keep flies from bothering the animals when they are standing in the shade.
We will be updating our website and getting back to posting regular photos and information on our social media pages. Are you following us? If you aren't already, please find us on Facebook and Instagram at Heart of a Warrior, Inc. And our website is https://www.heartofawarriorinc.com
A very grateful, heartfelt THANK YOU, for reading this and for your consideration.
