Honoring the Memory of Raya Rezvani – A Sefer Torah in Her Name
On April 2, 2025, our beloved mother, Raya Rezvani, passed away. She was a woman of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith. In her memory, we are commissioning the writing of a Sefer Torah—a sacred and timeless tribute that will carry her legacy forward for generations.
A Sefer Torah is the most holy object in Judaism, handwritten by a trained scribe, letter by letter, with care and devotion. It is said that by participating in the writing of a Torah, one fulfills the 613th and final mitzvah in the Torah. We are inviting friends, family, and members of the community to join us in this special mitzvah.
Be a Part of the Legacy
Every donor will be invited to a future ceremony where they can personally write a letter in the scroll alongside the scribe. Together, we will complete this Torah—letter by letter, word by word—in honor of our mother’s memory.
We are using the following donation levels as a guide:
$54 – Letter
$260 – Word
$1,260 – Parasha (Torah portion)
$5,200+ – Family Name Inscription in the Torah
$5,200 – Book of Moses
✨ Any donation amount is welcome and deeply appreciated. These suggested levels are simply for those who wish to sponsor a specific part of the Torah.
Whether you knew Raya personally, or are simply moved to take part in this sacred project, your contribution will help bring this Torah to life. It will live in a synagogue or study center, where it will be read, cherished, and honored—for her, and for all who helped make it possible.
A portion of the fund will be dedicated to mitzvot—such as supporting Torah learning or helping those in need—reflecting the values my mom held dear and lived by every day.
We would be deeply honored to have her loved ones join us in this mitzvah. Their presence will stand as a meaningful tribute to the love she gave so freely and the love that continues to surround her.
