Join us in love remembering Deanne Good

The sudden loss of Deanne Good has left us all devastated as a community. If you didn’t know her, you would more than likely have a friend who did. She was well known in our community because she provided service and a smile to just about everyone. From being a favorite server at various restaurants, she was lastly a beloved member of the “Brew Crew” of Hawksbill Brewery in Luray, Va. Deanne promoted and became the “heart” of any business or venture she set out on. She deeply loved her town, she loved her community, and it was very evident in her daily life. She was a lifelong Page County resident who was a beautiful soul who welcomed everyone into her unconditional “inner circle” of acceptance. Work ethic, intelligence, kindness, acceptance, creativity, her ability to bring instant light into any room doesn’t even begin to describe who she was as a wonderful human. But first and foremost, she was a mom. Hali and Drea were her pride and joy, and the very heart of her life. She taught them to be strong, self-sufficient, and just love life just as she was taught by her own mother. Her life became fulfilled when she became a “Nani” to Callan, her beautiful grandchild. She beamed as she shared pictures and conversations daily about Callan, her “mini me”. Even as she recently bravely faced and conquered cancer with determination, you would never know unless you were in her immediate circle. She was the embodiment of peace and it radiated from her. Her spirit has touched more in this world in ways we may never know because she spread kindness wherever she went.

Deanne left footprints wherever she walked, she left love and kindness to all.

Her spirit will live on in our community by memorializing her and help her immediate family, Hali, Drea, Callan, Edison, and JJ as they prepare for a celebration of her life with the community. Obviously they were unprepared for such a sudden tragedy. If you would like to be part of that, we ask you give toward this family as they move forward the way Deanne taught them. All donations go directly to her family with daughter Hali managing them. This will cover funeral expenses, and immediate needs.

Checks are also appreciated and can be made out to Hali Emmons, sister of Drea and daughter of Deanne. The checks can be left in an envelope at the brewery with Hali’s name on it. Please note that while Hali’s name is on the check the support benefits both sisters equally. Thank you for the kindness in advance.
