A house for sale, under contract, was vandalized after inspection. Pipes underneath the house were cut off and stolen, which caused water to run for several days, flooding the whole yard and causing more damage to the property.

The down payment and closing cost grant is at risk because they only give a certain amount of days to utilize the money. This damage has caused heartache and unnecessary stress to the seller, having to pay out extra money over their budget, and heartache to the first-time home buyer that’s at risk of losing the down payment and closing cost grant because of this. We need the community to join in and help this seller sell their home and help the buyer fulfill her dream of purchasing her first home before the grant money timeline expires.
